Balance and reduce emissions:

Lux Elise participates in the offset program. This means that for every package we send, based on the weight, distance and type of transportation, the CO2 emissions that are released into the air are calculated. We take that number and determine the amount of money it takes to offset those emissions. Those funds are used to purchace carbon credits, which offset emission through deforestation protection projects. While it is not an exact science we are working to reduce our carbon footprint. The project that these funds contribute to varies. The current recipient is Pachama for the Jarí Para REDD+ Avoided Unplanned Deforestation project.

Reduce waste:

We are also passionate about ensuring our packaging is not making it into landfills. We have broken down all the recyclable materials in our Recycling Guide to make it easy to to participate in your local program. Target also has collection bins at the entrance of all of their stores. This is a nice alternative to local pick-up if it is not available in your area.

Give back to nature:

We care deeply about the planet and creating a business that gives back to nature. That’s why we’re thrilled to share that we’re partnering with One Tree Planted to plant trees. Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and wellbeing, and create jobs for social impact. We’re honored to have reforestation through One Tree Planted as an integral part of our business model.
